Simon Loescher – BDS
Principal Dentist

Simon qualified from Birmingham University in 1988, and has since been in General Practice. He began at a small surgery in Lichfield before moving to the family practice in Walmley in 1994. He has worked at the School of Dentistry, University of Birmingham, training undergraduate dentists. He has also worked part time in Oral surgery, Orthodontics and Periodontics. Simon is committed to the treatment of nervous patients, and those who have had bad experiences in the past. He has a particular interest in treating and preventing gum disease, and providing Implants to replace missing teeth.

Simon is married to Kathy, and they have three children and a cocker spaniel called Roxy. Outside of dentistry Simon likes to keep fit – enjoying cycling and hill walking. He is also a keen Bee Keeper…get him talking about his bees!!

Philip Holt – BChD, Bsc (Hons)
Dentist

Phil began his training in the medical sciences, specialising in Pharmacology. He went on to study dentistry at the University of Leeds and qualified in 2008. Phil then spent 7 years in a practice in Yorkshire, also taking on the role of Foundation Dentist Trainer over 3 separate years where he trained qualified dentists in clinical techniques. He then returned to his native West Midlands, joining us in 2015. Phil is interested in all aspects of restorative care and aesthetic treatments, especially at the minimally invasive adhesive dentistry interface. His focus is on patient care: helping anxious patients get through their treatment, and helping patients complete treatment to make their mouths healthier, their ability to function better, and increase their confidence in appearance.

Phil enjoys spending time with his wife, Chloe, and 18 month old daughter, Elodie, and travelling when time allows it. His hobbies include walking and playing basketball and tennis.

Nicole Mason 
Dental Hygienist

Having started as a dental nurse, Nicole qualified as a hygienist in 2010.  She trained at the Eastman Dental Hospital in central London.  She loves her job…especially meeting and getting to know new patients ad helping them with their oral health.

Her spare time is spent with her family, going for walks with their dogs…and trying new recipes….she’s a great cook!

Kathy Loescher
Receptionist

Kathy is married to Simon and they have three lovely grown up children. She originally trained as a Primary School Teacher, but has worked in the practice since the family moved here in 1994. She is involved in lots of the behind the scenes work of the practice, but her favourite part of coming to work is getting to know the patients and helping to provide the warm welcoming atmosphere we are so proud of here.

Outside of work she loves walking and running – she and Simon have often taken part in the Sutton Fun Run to raise money for local charities. Her scariest moment to date – watching her youngest son Ben, do a bungee jump off the bridge at Victoria Falls!!

Emma Green
Dental Nurse

 Emma joined the practice in December 2021.  She began her career as a Dental Nurse in 2007 and has worked in a wide range of practices broadening her skills and experience.   She is qualified in radiography, impression taking and application of fluoride.  She enjoys getting to know the patients, and making the more nervous feel comfortable and reassured.

Outside of work she enjoys socialising, arts and crafts and sewing.  She has a beautiful tabby cat called Princess Mia!!

Karen Edwards – RDN
Dental Nurse and Receptionist

Karen qualified as a dental nurse in 1983, and joined the practice in 1986. She is experienced in all aspects of the surgery including working on reception. Having been with the practice for so long many of the patients know and love her well.

In her spare time Karen is a puppy walker for the West Midlands Police. She also enjoys socialising and travelling and has seen many wonders around the world. Ambitions are to actually sip a Singapore Sling Cocktail in the Raffles, and another trip to Iceland looking for the Northern Lights!!

Lucia Podaru
Dental Nurse

Lucia Joined the practice in January 2021 as a trainee dental nurse.  She qualified in April the same year, and enjoys all aspects of working as part of the team here at 321.

Lucia loves travelling and baking – and we’ve sampled some fabulous Cream Eclairs…one of her Mum’s special recipes.

Emma Bradley – RDN
Dental Nurse

Emma qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2000, and is registered with the GDC. She is experienced in working with very nervous patients and over the last 5 years has assisted with sedation. Emma is our newest member of staff, joining us in 2018 having previously worked with Mr Holt in another practice.

In her spare time Emma enjoys spending time with husband Warren, and children Layla and Hayden, and their cocker spaniel Royston. She supports her daughter Layla in her love for singing, dancing and acting and Hayden with his swimming and football. She also enjoys socialising and going to the Gym when time allows it.

Catherine Roberts
Dental Hygienist

Catherine graduated in 2014 with a BSc Honours in dental hygiene and therapy from the University of Birmingham. She is passionate about helping patients with their oral health and take a preventative approach. She always prides herself in helping patients overcome any fears or anxieties and thus making their dental experience a positive one.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, travelling and baking.

Ellie Chapman
Dental Nurse

Ellie joined the practice in 2019, as a trainee Dental Nurse and qualified in 2021.

She has keen interests in politics, music and travel outside of work. She hopes one day to travel the world, using her nursing skills to provide care to disadvantaged communities.

Haleema Raza
Trainee Dental Nurse

Haleema joined the Practice in November 2023. In the past she completed a level 3 Applied Science extended diploma. She has now progressed onto an apprenticeship in dental nursing at 321 Dental Care.
